Non-EU remote workers can obtain legal Spanish residency via the nomad visa, access the Schengen area, and benefit from Spain's Beckham Law for reduced income tax.

Spain's Digital Nomad Visa (Visa para Nomadas Digitales) allows non-EU nationals who work remotely for foreign companies or clients to obtain legal Spanish residency. It grants an initial 1-year visa, extendable to a 3-year residence permit and then a 2-year renewal, with a pathway to permanent residency and Spanish citizenship after 10 years.
The minimum income requirement is 200% of Spain's minimum wage, which works out to approximately 2,646 EUR per month at current rates. For family applications the threshold increases. We verify the current threshold during your assessment.
Spain's Beckham Law (Ley Beckham, officially the Special Expat Regime) allows qualifying new Spanish tax residents to pay a flat 24% income tax on Spanish-source income up to 600,000 EUR per year for 6 years, rather than Spain's progressive rates (up to 47%). It significantly reduces the tax burden for higher-earning nomads and remote employees.
You can work for Spanish companies, but no more than 20% of your total income may come from Spanish-source clients during the initial visa period. The visa is designed for workers primarily employed by or contracting with non-Spanish entities. We advise on structuring your income to maintain compliance.
