Germany's Freelancer Visa (Aufenthaltserlaubnis fur selbstandige Tatigkeit or Freiberufler Visum) allows non-EU nationals in qualifying liberal professions (artists, journalists, IT specialists, engineers, architects, and others) to live and work in Germany as independent freelancers. It grants an initial residence permit typically for 1-2 years, renewable as long as you can demonstrate income.
Germany requires applicants to demonstrate sustainable income capable of covering living costs (typically 1,200-1,500 EUR per month minimum after taxes) and proof of existing clients or contracts.
