Cyprus's Non-Domiciled (Non-Dom) resident regime allows qualifying individuals to pay 0% tax on dividends and interest income for 17 years. Combined with Cyprus's 12.5% corporate tax rate (one of the lowest in the EU), EU membership, English-speaking bureaucracy, and Mediterranean lifestyle, Cyprus is one of Europe's most attractive residency destinations for entrepreneurs and investors.

Cyprus's Non-Domiciled resident regime exempts qualifying individuals from Special Defence Contribution (SDC), which is the 17% tax on dividends and 30% tax on interest that Cyprus tax residents pay on certain income. Non-Dom status is available for 17 years from the date of first establishing Cyprus tax residency, provided you were not a Cyprus tax resident in the 20 years before applying.
Cyprus Non-Dom status provides a 0% SDC rate on dividends (from Cyprus or foreign companies), interest income (deposits, bonds), and rental income in some cases. It does not exempt salary income, trading profits, or capital gains on non-property assets. Most entrepreneurs who hold company shares and extract profits as dividends benefit most from Non-Dom status.
The standard rule is 183 days per calendar year in Cyprus. However, Cyprus introduced a 60-day rule: you can qualify as a Cyprus tax resident by spending at least 60 days in Cyprus, provided you are not a tax resident of any other country, you do not spend 183+ days in any other country, and you have certain qualifying connections to Cyprus (registered company, rented or owned property).
Yes. Non-EU nationals can apply for Cyprus permanent residency via the fast-track PR route (Category 6.2, requiring a qualifying investment of at least 300,000 EUR) or via the Category F route (demonstrated income from abroad).
