What income is required for the Croatia digital nomad stay?
Croatia's interior ministry currently lists at least EUR 3,622.50 per month, or available funds for the intended stay (EUR 43,470 for 12 months; EUR 65,205 for 18 months). The figures can change with the previous year's average net salary.
How long can I stay in Croatia on the nomad route?
Temporary stay can be granted for up to 18 months. If initially granted for less, an extension may be possible up to a maximum of six months; it is not an automatic additional year.
Is there tax on foreign income in Croatia?
Croatia's digital nomad visa holders are generally not considered Croatian tax residents if they stay under 183 days. For longer stays, income tax applies at 20–30%. We don't provide tax advice, consult a local accountant.
Can I travel within the Schengen zone with a Croatia nomad visa?
Croatia is part of the Schengen Area (joined January 2023), so your Croatian visa-stamp gives you access to other Schengen countries for short stays.
Do I need an OIB number?
Yes. The OIB (Osobni Identifikacijski Broj) is Croatia's equivalent of a tax/national ID number, required for opening a bank account and most official processes.
