Frequently asked questions

Does South Korea have a digital nomad visa?

South Korea launched its Workcation Visa (F-1-D) in 2023, allowing remote workers to stay for up to 1 year (extendable to 2 years). Applicants must earn at least $84,600 USD per year and work for a company based outside Korea. We guide you through eligibility and the application process.

How is the internet and coworking scene in Seoul?

Seoul consistently ranks among the cities with the fastest internet in the world. There is a dense network of coworking spaces in Gangnam, Hongdae, and Mapo-gu. Many cafes also offer excellent Wi-Fi, making Seoul exceptionally well-suited to remote work.

Do I pay tax in South Korea as a nomad visa holder?

Foreign income earned while in South Korea on a short-stay visa is generally not subject to Korean income tax for the duration of the Workcation Visa. Tax rules are complex and depend on residency status and home country treaties. We do not provide tax advice; consult a Korean tax advisor.
